VIOPOL participated in annual Polyurea Development Association (PDA) Europe conference & exhibition which took place in Barcelona on 16-17 November 2023.
Dr Giannis Sgountzos, technical manager of VIOPOL, presented VIOPOL’s pure polyurea system V-Coat P5000 which is used for the waterproofing and protection of 4000 m2 terrace of a Deutsche Telekom Group building in Athens Greece. This project was about covering with pure polyurea an insulated terrace with our polyurethane spray foam system.
Details about equipment, conditions and procedure used for this project are presented accompanied with some measurements of pure polyurea mechanical properties. Advantages and criteria for approving VIOPOL’s V-Coat P5000 polyurea system are also discussed. Main of the advantages are that it is a durable material to environmental conditions and a lightweight application to old structures which cannot withstand additional weight.
During the conference interesting projects were presented regarding developments in the field of raw materials, new and more accurate measurement methods, new technologies and procedures in the field of research and development of pure polyurea systems.
Interesting discussions were held with other polyurea producers as well as raw material suppliers and future challenges in the development and evolution of polyurea systems were analyzed.
