VIOPOL POLYURETHANE SYSTEMS was a sponsor at the conference organized by the Panhellenic Association of Insulation Companies (PSEM) and BUILDING GREEN magazine on the topic: ‘Building Pathology – The Benefits of Insulation Materials in Greek Construction according to the New Building Regulation (NOK)’. Specifically, the sponsorship was accompanied by a presentation by Technical Director Ioannis Sgountzos on the topic: ‘Use of expanding rigid polyurethane foam and polyurea for thermal insulation, waterproofing, and repair of buildings.’ The presentation detailed the benefits of sprayed polyurethane foam for the thermal insulation of buildings, as well as the advantages and numerous applications of sprayed hot polyurea. Several reference projects using VIOPOL’s specific materials were presented, such as the renovation of the OTE building in Kerameikos, which was made possible by the sprayed polyurethane foam solution to elevate the floors without creating a structural problem in the building. The use of both sprayed polyurethane foam and polyurea on the building’s roof ensured optimal thermal insulation and waterproofing of the entire structure. The presentation concluded with a mention of VIOPOL’s new state-of-the-art factory, operational since 2020 in Schimatari.
